With its first theme, the Festival invites authors to reflect on the journey driven by necessity: one that arises from a need for survival, a desire for change, or the search for a new balance. Every threshold crossed opens an unknown territory, where who we were no longer coincides with who we are becoming. This journey can take many forms: it may be the path of those who leave their homeland in pursuit of a better future.

As happens to many who, driven by necessity or aspiration, embark on a journey toward the United States — a symbolic land of departures, encounters, and rebirths. Thus, the journey becomes a story of hope, resilience, and transforming identity. We welcome works of every genre and language — from fiction to documentary, from animation to experimental film — capable of turning every boundary into a narrative space.
