HOW VISIONOVA WORKS

HOW VISIONOVA WORKS

Visionova unfolds across four unique editions each year, each one built around a fresh theme that dives into a different dimension of contemporary creativity. Think of each edition as its own creative chapter — distinct, bold, and constantly pushing boundaries.

For every edition, our curatorial team handpicks a lineup of officially nominated films that reflect the theme’s spirit and originality. These selected works are then screened at our live event and awards ceremony in the heart of Rome — an electric gathering of filmmakers, artists, and cinephiles.

Each edition celebrates excellence with three core awards:

  • Best Film — for exceptional storytelling and artistic impact

  • Best Acting — for standout performances and magnetic screen presence

  • Best Visual Craft — for technical brilliance in cinematography, sound, and overall visual design

But the story doesn’t end there.

At year’s end, all winners from the four editions face off for the ultimate honor:
The Visionova Grand Award.

This prestigious annual prize includes:

The Visionova Trophy
An additional screening at an international partner event
And the title of the film that best captures the bold, boundary-pushing spirit of Visionova

  • The selection results will be published on the website and announced through the Festival’s official channels. The organizers reserve the right to communicate the selected works and the corresponding event date.
